Josh Redhead and co-driver Ray Winwood-Smith head to this weekend’s Toyota Gazoo Racing Narooma Forest Rally determined to convert their proven pace into a strong result after a frustrating opening round of the Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship.
The pair arrive in Narooma on the back of an impressive fifth outright finish at the recent Australian Rally Championship round in Queensland, demonstrating they have the speed to challenge some of Australia’s best rally crews.
That performance has given the team plenty of confidence heading into Narooma, despite a mixed start to their NSW Rally Championship campaign at Bathurst.
The crew showed their outright pace at the opening round by finishing second in Heat 1, before mechanical troubles in Heat 2 ended their rally prematurely and denied them the result their speed deserved.
“It was disappointing not to finish Bathurst because we know the pace was there,” said Redhead. “Queensland showed what we’re capable of against a very competitive ARC field, so we’re looking forward to getting back behind the wheel at Narooma and putting together a complete weekend.”
Redhead and Winwood-Smith will once again contest both the Australian Rally Championship and the Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship, with Narooma providing another opportunity to challenge at the front of both fields.
With some of the fastest and most technical forest roads in the country awaiting crews, consistency and reliability will be just as important as outright speed. The team heads into the event confident that the issues experienced at Bathurst have been addressed and that they can once again fight for a strong outright result.
The Toyota Gazoo Racing Narooma Forest Rally takes place on 27-28 June and forms Round 2 of the 2026 Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship.
