There’s movement in service, the word’s well and truly out, and day 3 is shaping up as a big one for the Classics and SA Rally Championship crews. Five stages on the menu today, with 160km of competitive kilometres still to come, so don’t get too comfy with the leaderboard just yet.

Dust was a headache yesterday, but will there be a breeze about today? First car is due out at 8:30am.

Glenn Brinkman and Scott Beckwith sit third tonight after another solid run in the Escort Cosworth RS.

Tom Dermody has hit Saturday afternoon at the Shannon’s Rally Heartland in a hurry 👊

The Ford Escort has taken the first two stages of the day, extending Dermody’s overall lead in the classics as the field gets properly stuck into day 2 in SA. Glenn Brinkman is still the next best, but can’t quite match the older Escort’s pace so far.

Dust was the talking point yesterday, but there’s a big wind around today, which will keep the view a little clearer for the crews and everyone on the side of the road 🌬️

Day 2 is underway at the Shannon’s Rally Heartland and the first stage of Saturday has already given us a little shake-up 👀

On SS11 Waterholes, Dermody and Moynihan were quickest in the Ford RS 2500 with an 8:09.0, from Price and Kilbride in the Evo 9 on 8:13.0. Brinkman and Beckwith were next up, while yesterday’s SA Rally Championship day winner Guy Tyler and Steve Fisher slipped back to fourth on the stage in the Magna.

After the dust headaches yesterday, there’s a bit more breeze around today, which should help the field see where they’re going 🌬️💨

It’s an Anzac Day late start in SA, with five stages on today totalling 40km, and the classics still have that extra 75km night stage to come. Long day, big test, and we’re only just getting started.

The Magna crew lead the way after Friday, but with 5 stages and just over 40km on the cards today, it’ll be a short, sharp sprint to see if they can hang on from Toby Price and Holly Kilbride. That breeze might be the best co-driver of the day too, with dust hopefully clearing quicker than yesterday 🌬️💨

Late Anzac Day start today, first cars away from 1pm. Then tonight the classics head back out for an extra 75km in the dark. Proper rally business.

A few last-minute repairs in service this morning as crews get set for Saturday’s action in SA. After yesterday’s dust, there’s a bit of breeze about today, so hopefully everyone can see where they’re going this time 😅

It’s a late start for Anzac Day, with cars due away from around 1pm. Today’s leg serves up 5 stages and 40km for the SARC and ECCRS field, while the classics have an extra sting in the tail with a long 75km night stage still to come.

Yesterday it was Guy Tyler and Steve Fisher on top in the Magna for the SARC, while Thomas Dermody and Eoin Moynihan took the classics honours in the Escort.

With just two stages left today and the sun starting to dip in SA, the pressure is on. Tyler holds a 43 second margin over Toby Price and Holly Kilbride in second, but with dust hanging around and the day winding into the evening, there’s still plenty to play out. But… Tyler and Price are only doing the SARC, so that fight will have to wait until tomorrow!!

Only three days to go until the Shannon’s Rally Heartland fires up out of Burra for a big three-day hitout. There’s 20 stages ahead, from a short sharp 6.28km sprint to a monster 75.55km test, with a mix of new and classic cars ready to get dusty.

Friday serves up 10 stages, then 5 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday. Plenty going on too, with the event part of the SA Rally Championship and the ECCRS. Safe to say the field won’t be short on action… or excuses 😄

The Shannon’s Rally Heartland is more than a rally weekend, it’s a proper trip through SA history 📍

Based out of Burra, this three day event brings the field through some seriously iconic country town backdrops, with classic machinery looking right at home among the old stone buildings and historic sites. And honestly, if you’re heading up for the rally, do yourself a favour and have a wander around town between stages. There’s plenty to see beyond the flying gravel.

With 20 stages across the weekend, from 6.28km to a big 75.55km, there’s no shortage of rally action either. A bit of history, a bit of horsepower. Hard to argue with that 😎
