Queensland rally ace Glenn Brinkman and his Western Australian co-driver Scott Beckwith are set to take on the Subaru WRX Challenge this weekend at the 2025 Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland, held in Gympie from July 4–6. The reigning WRX Challenge champions of the one-make series return with serious intent and some serious competition.

Proudly backed by KickAss Products, the pair will once again pilot their Subaru WRX in what’s shaping up to be a fierce contest. And while they are used to being the benchmark, this weekend they will be facing stiff competition from a familiar face, their teammate, Toby Price.

Price stole the show at the Forest Rally earlier this year, taking both heat wins in the WRX Challenge on debut. Brinkman and Beckwith, however, remain unfazed and motivated to reclaim top step honours on their home turf.

Price, a multiple Dakar Rally champion, made a successful debut in the Subaru WRX Challenge at the Forest Rally in May. His transition from two wheels to four has been impressive, and he will be a formidable competitor in Gympie.

Both Brinkman and Price share a connection beyond the rally stages, having competed in the gruelling Dakar Rally. Brinkman made his debut in 2024, finishing 26th in the Challenger Class, while Price has multiple podium finishes and victories to his name.

For Brinkman, this round carries added significance. As owner of Accent Benchtops, the event’s naming rights sponsor, he’s proud to not only compete, but also play a major role in supporting the rally’s success.

“It’s incredibly special to compete in an event that carries our company name,” Brinkman said. “Accent Benchtops is a proud Queensland business and supporting Rally Queensland is our way of giving back to the rally community. This is one of the premier events on the calendar and we’re excited to be part of it both on and off the stages.”

Fresh from debuting a brand-new Can-Am Maverick R at the 2025 Tatts Finke Desert Race just weeks ago, Brinkman is staying sharp across multiple disciplines. His versatility, now extending from the Dakar Rally to Finke and back to the ARC, continues to underline his status as one of Australia’s most experienced off-road and rally competitors.

Beckwith, a seasoned co-driver from Western Australia, is a key part of the team’s consistency and success. Together, they secured the inaugural Subaru WRX Challenge title in 2024 and are hungry to go back-to-back.

The Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland is the third round of the 2025 EROAD Australian Rally Championship and features a star-studded field of 23 ARC crews, plus a fiercely contested WRX Challenge roster. Based in the scenic Gympie region, the rally offers a fast, flowing gravel test across some of Queensland’s most iconic rally stages.
