One of the most popular choices of Winch Truck, with both competitors and spectators is the Toyota FJ40. It’s tough, it’s extreme and it turns heads wherever it goes!

Rod and Russell Rathbone have been stalwarts of the Xtreme Winch Challenge series and have shown their consistency and skill over the years in their Wyong Automatics Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser Comp Truck.  At Round 1 of the 2016 COMEUP Xtreme Winch Challenge Series, Rod and Russell took their highly modified Winch Truck to victory at the Springs 4×4 Park in Warwick, Queensland.  This truck has got some real grunt and sounds just fantastic.  Check out our video coverage of Saturdays stages in the video above.

About COMEUP Xtreme Winch Challenge

David Metcalfe started conducting 4×4 events back in 1996 to raise money for charity. In 1998 along with Lance Gillies ventured to the International Rain-forest Challenge of Malaysia. We returned in 1999 & 2000, Lance returned with me in 2007 in the “Midlife Crises”. 2009 saw the “Midlife Crises” along with Alex Driscoll return to the RFC Since 1998 until 2015 I have missed the 2005 & 2006 RFC. During this time I have been an Official in 1 RFC China and have been Course Master at the 2014, 2015, 2016 and the upcoming 2017 RFC India Events. In February 2000 Xtreme 4×4 Sport started the Xtreme Winch Challenge and with the support of ARB the first ARB XWC was held. The naming rights in 2000 and 2001 were shared with Landcruiser Mountain Park, TJM and ATECO until ARB took on the entire roll. After 16 years of the ARB XWC it was time for ARB to say goodbye, to them I say thank you for being part of my life, it was fun. So 2016 saw a new Sponsor – Comeup Industries Taiwan come on board for the Xtreme Winch Challenge Series
