They say only a “Ranga” can call another red head a Ranga, but when your team name is Team Ranga, we may need to make an exception for these two blokes in their Nissan Patrol GU. Paul Semmens and Nathan Mills have had a few thrills and spills in their 4.8 inter-cooled turbo Patrol, sporting a few different coloured panels after repairs from previous winch events that didn’t go according to plan.
The truck features a twin gearbox high mount winch with free spool mechanism. Giving it some height is the Fox shock absorbers and bump stops with 6 inch springs. The 37 inch Maxxis Trepadors on 7 inch alloy rims help it get over the toughest obstacles. A manualised automatic gearbox on the back of the 4.8 litre turbo power-plant is putting the power to the ground through ARB air locked GU differentials. A 5 link front suspension setup and an “A” frame rear end helps overall travel.
Team Ranga are sponsored by Wyong Automatic and Coastal Shade. They also get help from Total Care Automotive and Agro Automotive. In the video we see them in action at Round 1 of the 2016 COMEUP Xtreme Winch Challenge Series.
